Weddings and Special Events

At our farm on the Somerset Levels we host a select number of special events each year.



We specialise in wedding receptions and handfastings, but the site is quite flexible and we are always delighted to be considered for any event you are planning. We are also excited to be able to show off our specially made timber-framed canvas marquee, which at 20x12 metres can hold a large event (up to 180 people seated comfortably), or can be partitioned into two or more smaller areas.

The marquee is situated in a four acre meadow in front of the house and garden, offering the perfect vantage point to enjoy the views and plan some fun and games, or to have a picnic or afternoon tea!

The garden and meadow can also be used for non-legal ceremonies such as handfastings - our stone circle is particularly well suited to this.

As well as vintage-style afternoon teas and ceremony set-ups, there are a number of other extras we can provide to help you make your event perfect, whether it's bonfires, flowers, or lighting up the garden after dark for a magical night.

As a small family farm, we are very proud of our ethical and environmental approach. We encourage the use of recycled products, and recycle what we can. Whenever possible, local businesses are used for any services that we cannot provide ourselves. We have invested heavily in renewable energy, in the past with wind power and now with solar. We also planted 18,000 trees on the farm in 2004, as well as a reed bed to filter waste. We feel that it is just as important as the beautiful surroundings and warm welcome you will receive here.

Prices and Extras

For 2018, the price for hiring Splotts Moor Farm as your venue starts at £3890. This includes:

- Our magnificent timber-framed marquee (able to seat up to 180 guests)
- 4 acres of beautiful Somerset countryside
- Use of our Guesthouse for nominated guests
- Our lovely 1/2 acre gardens

all for a full 24 hours.

We will also include free:

- Two staff on the day to help ensure things run smoothly
- Set-up and clear-up of your event
- Camping for guests
- Electricity
- Lighting inside and outside the marquee
- Simple decoration of the marquee
- Tablecloths, crockery and cutlery.

Tables, chairs and glasses can all be hired from us directly. Please note that toilet facilities will need to be hired separately - we have a good relationship with local suppliers who offer competitive prices for these and we are happy to organise them on your behalf.
